Cooperation meetings held within the framework of the UN Tourism Ministers’ Summit

Azada Huseynova, Deputy Chair of the State Tourism Agency participated in discussions held as part of the UN Tourism Ministers’ Summit in Berlin, Germany, which brought together tourism ministers from nearly 20 countries.

On the sidelines of the summit, she met with Abdulaziz Akkulov, Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism of Uzbekistan. The meeting focused on an exchange of insights into both countries’ approaches to target markets, as well as their respective promotion strategies. The parties also reviewed progress made under the Memorandum of Understanding signed in April 2025 between the Azerbaijan Tourism Bureau and the National PR Center of Uzbekistan, and reached an understanding on additional mechanisms to further enhance cooperation.

As part of the visit, a meeting with representatives of Germany’s tourism industry was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Federal Republic of Germany. Addressing the participants, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Nasimi Aghayev highlighted Azerbaijan’s diverse tourism offering and its strong appeal for German travellers.

In her remarks, Azada Huseynova provided an overview of the major international events to be hosted by Azerbaijan. The meeting continued with a presentation by the Azerbaijan Tourism Bureau, showcasing the country’s tourism potential, followed by a Q&A session with industry representatives.
